The Chronicles of a Stay-at-Home Mom: A Foggy Season

Episode 3

II haven’t written a Chronicles update in a while, and that’s because life lately has felt… well, not very post-worthy. Mainly because it’s about mom burnout…

We’ve been hit with sickness after sickness, and it has left me completely burnt out—the kind of mom burnout that no nap, no coffee, and not even a Yerba Mate can fix. If you know, you know.

Honestly, I debated even sharing this because it’s not wrapped up with encouragement or tips or a breakthrough. But maybe you’re like me right now—tired, stretched thin, and just trying to make it through the day. So, this post is me showing up as I am. Not with answers. Just here.

If I’m being really honest, this burnout has had me reaching for my Nintendo more than I’d like to admit—just trying to escape reality for a bit. But I know that’s not where the healing comes from. The truth is, I should be leaning into the Lord more than ever right now. He’s the only one who has the answers I need. The only one who can give me the real rest my soul is craving.

But even knowing that… I haven’t been doing it. I feel the battle happening in me—the one between my spirit and my flesh. And right now, I just feel numb. I’m going through the motions of motherhood out of habit. Not fully enjoying it. Just getting through it.

I’m sick of cooking but don’t have the budget to eat out. So easy meals are on repeat over here. Right now, it’s not about thriving—it’s about surviving. Just trying to get through the fog of mom burnout and take care of my family the best I can.

I don’t know when this fog will lift. But I’ll take you along the way. Because I know I’m not the only one who’s felt this way before—or who might be feeling it right now. If you’re in the thick of mom burnout too, I’d love to hear from you. Let me know in the comments—or send me a message. How can I pray for you in this season?

You’re not alone, friend. And neither am I.

xoxo, M
